In the backyard, the two dogs were playing tug-of-war as usual when Chief suddenly leaped at his owner’s feet while growling and hissing. The owner was unable to grasp what was happening because everything happened so quickly.
But then he saw Chief trembling and hurling a long, thin piece about in his mouth. Additionally, it was not a tug-of-war rope.
Within an hour following the bite, the dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian. Anti-venom should be administered as soon as possible, the better.
Getting your dog immunized against snake venom may be a smart idea if you live in a region where rattlesnakes are common.
